Bohemian Style LA
Coachella has now come and gone but made quite an impression on me this year. Now that the weather is ideal I wanted to experience and explore the care free fashions of the free-spirited festival. I'm tossing aside my streamlined look for a few days and replacing it with cool boho-chic styles of the West Coast.
Everything about this dress from En Crème screams LA style to me. It's the epitome of bohemian chic. This floral mauve babydoll silhouette is cute and comfortable. This is the perfect weekend dress for brunch or a fun-filled casual night out. Dress it up with strappy heels or down with booties or a flat sandal. The back of the dress is just as attractive as the front, with the added detail of soft fringe hanging down the back. Style it with a floppy hat and/or shades to take it up a notch. This boho look is one of my favorites.
How many of you like embroidery? Me, not so much... until I came across this purple A-line dress by Free People . Forget about embroidery only being limited to the blanket on your grandmother's couch. Free People continuously create beautiful designs throughout their collections using embroidery. Here, I'm wearing an effortless shift dress that's perfect for Spring/Summer. I loved the built-in bandeau with tie in the back as well and the open sides at the waist. This dress is 100% cotton which is just what you need for the hot days ahead.
After finding these two Coachella style dresses it made sense to find a statement top that says, "I'm cool, stylish and boho-chic", this Do+Be shirt does just that. The long balloon sleeves with gathered ties can be adjusted to your desired length. The fabric is soft and the burgundy (chili oil) color is currently on trend. I styled it with a burgundy tank dress underneath and nude cork platform shoes. This top can also be paired nicely with denim.
I have to say I had a great time trying outfits that I don't normally gravitate to when shopping. I got a slight taste of the California flavor. If I lived on the West Coast I could easily fall into an effortless bohemian luxury style. I felt free and not so restricted like I sometimes do in my typical body conscious styles. The bohemian style inspiration has convinced me to incorporate more effortless style in my future purchases this summer. What or who has been your style inspiration for summer 2018?
