Summer is in full swing and before you know it we'll all be bundled up and hibernating again. The Fall season is upon us so enjoy this weather while you can. Aside from Fall this is my favorite time of the year. The sun is out and all the azalea's and cherry blossoms are in full bloom! There is color all around us during this season and it's heaven-sent.
When you go to the park do you ever stretch out on a blanket surrounded by beautiful green grass? Have you ever thought about how that makes you feel? I know I always feel calm, relaxed and at peace. Believe it or not there is a psychological effect that takes place on a daily basis when we are surrounded by various colors. Color can affect our mood and can have an impact on our general sense of well-being.
Surrounded by all that green grass is almost reassuring that I'm comfortable and safe. This Spring/Summer season Ultra Violet (lilac) and Meadowlark (yellow) still reign supreme in the world of fashion. You can't help but notice the trend everywhere. After reviewing the Pantone Spring/Summer palette of 2018 I fell in love with a fresh cool turquoise green called ARCADIA.
This color can be found anywhere from home décor, beauty, jewelry and of course fashion. This refreshing take on green will definitely lighten your mood. This is a blue-based green so if you have a warmer (yellow-based) undertone it may not be as flattering on your skin. It's similar to turquoise which is a universal hue so most skin types should look great in it. If you want to give it a try, nail polish is an inexpensive way to go for a test run.
This refreshing new take on green is paired best with white, off-white, mint green, yellow or my favorite color, black. Depending on the fabric you're in when wearing this color, it can be quite breathtaking. Let's be honest here, green is probably not the first color you gravitate to when your looking for something new to add to your wardrobe. The depth of Arcadia is not too light or dark, it's just the right amount of green that won't have you looking ill. Green has been known to evokes creativity and imagination in the mind and may even bring you a bit of luck (wink...wink...)!
I am so in love with this color and could have never imagined that I'd be into it so much. But this Summer I'm going for brighter and more exciting colors than I'm used to, because here in New York the winters are getting longer and colder. Do you think you could incorporate the color Arcadia into your wardrobe somehow this Summer?
