5 Must Haves for Fall
My favorite season is here! Sound the trumpets! So far I’ve enjoyed a few pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks and relished in leaves falling on the ground, creating a real life oil painting of Autumn. I also appreciate all the fashionistas in New York City that present their favorite Fall pieces on their daily commutes, it’s nice to see their interpretation on Fall attire. In order for me to get through this season with ease and style I have 5 of my own fall must haves. I wonder if any of my must-haves are also your go-to-item when Fall rolls around.
#1 THE BODYSUIT
This is my number one because it’s so versatile. The bodysuit can be worn with any type of trouser, skirt of jeans. It can be casual or instantly more professional when adding a blazer. If you want to make sure your “girls” stay in place the bodysuit is the answer to no more adjusting, pulling or tugging. It’s a seamless look in a plethora of styles from short or long sleeve, open back, V-neck, scoop-neck or lace-up styles. There’s a style for everybody.
#2 FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS
I basically live in leggings throughout Fall and Winter. They go great with my bodysuit, my chunky sweaters and tunics. It is a basic that won’t have you looking “basic.” They are super comfortable and I can move around the city and still feel like I’m pulled together. There are pebbled and moto faux leggings if you want an even cooler look. Throw on a thigh-high boot or pump and your ready for a night on the town.
#3 THE BOOTIE
So many places to go and things to do, so what’s my go-to-shoe? The flat bootie of course! This season the Western and studded bootie are all the rage. I prefer a minimalistic aesthetic when it comes to shoes. The good news is that there are styles for every personality. l love to pair booties with jeans, leggings or a skirt. If you know me personally, you know I love a good high-heeled bootie, but with the demands of life, I’ve had to wear them less and less. The flat bootie is supreme in my book because it’s an all day wear type of shoe.
#4 CAMEL COLORED ANYTHING
I am on the hunt to find more camel or tan colored items to add to my wardrobe. It is my second favorite neutral next to black. The various shades of tan out there compliment so many complexions. Everyone should have a least one tan or brown item in their wardrobe. Something about tan looks so rich and luxurious to me. I just love it! So anything I find this season in that color is a must have.
#5 THE VEST
The vest is considered a must have this season, not only does it insulate the body for those days that a coat is just too much, but it’s a chic way to complete your look. Depending on the fabrication it can be casual and playful or polished and sophisticated. Imagine if I only wore my bodysuit and leggings on their own? The vest just brings the look together, effortlessly.
Tis the season to be jolly, comfy and stylish. What are your must haves for Fall?
